We are looking for a QA Engineer with experience in validating Java codebase migrations, specifically upgrading systems from Java 8 to Java 21.

This role is execution-focused and suited for QA engineers who can ensure system stability, correctness, and performance throughout the migration process. You will work closely with Backend Engineers and DevOps to validate changes, identify risks, and ensure production readiness.

*This is a fully remote role, working under US Time zone.

In this role, you will get to:

• Design and execute test strategies for Java migration (Java 8 → Java 21).
• Validate functional and non-functional behavior of migrated services.
• Identify edge cases and compatibility issues introduced during migration .
• Develop and maintain automated test cases for API and backend services.
• Perform functional, integration, and regression testing across the application.
• Collaborate with Java Developers to understand code changes and define test scenarios.
• Set up and maintain test automation infrastructure (test runners, CI integration, reporting).
• Execute API testing using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
  
• Log, track, and support resolution of defects with clear root cause analysis.
• Maintain test documentation, test cases, and validation reports.

You’ll be successful if you have:

• 2–4 years of experience in QA, test automation, or backend testing with at least 1–2 years in a Java-based testing environment.
• Familiarity with Java and understanding of Java version differences (Java 8 to 21).
• Strong experience in API testing and backend system validation.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, or similar).
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, or similar).
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Strong English communication skills both in written and spoken to communicate with the US team smoothly.
• Willing to work remotely in the US time zones.

It’s Nice If You Have:

• Experience testing REST APIs using tools like RestAssured, Postman, or similar.
• Familiarity with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, K6 or similar).
• Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of logging, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Experience working in fintech or high-transaction systems.
