What motivated you to pursue this course, and how does it relate to your current role?

The Data Engineering team at Sertis works closely with our clients all the way from cloud design to implementation. In this role, we must make sure our skills and knowledge are up to date with the rapidly changing industry. Getting cloud certified is one way we validate our own skills.

Did your work experience at Sertis enhance your understanding of the course content?

Yes, definitely. Using GCP in day-to-day work at Sertis makes it easy to get certified. In my case, I was familiar with most of the course content. I mainly skimmed through the course, took a practice exam and then went to the actual exam.

AWS Certified Developer: Associate Certification

What motivated you to pursue this course, and how does it relate to your current role?

My Software Engineering team has set the OKRs with the learning support provided by the company. Thus, I decided to test my knowledge and skills to see if they met global standards. Normally, Sertis has a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team that takes care of infrastructure. However, the SE team is responsible for designing the architecture diagram on AWS. Therefore, we need to be well-versed in AWS services so that we can design systems efficiently, keeping cost efficiency in mind. Additionally, we must collaborate closely with the customer’s IT team, being prepared to meet their needs as representatives of our company.

Did your work experience at Sertis enhance your understanding of the course content?

I mostly learn on the job. The SRE team provides guidance on new architectural designs and how to carry out Proof of Concept (POC). Additionally, we’ve experimented with new services from AWS to accommodate our project’s evolving requirements. This is especially true when addressing customer problems. Consequently, learning on the job has enabled me to enhance my skills and gain a deeper understanding of the course outline.

Regarding my experience with the Software Engineering team at Sertis, I frequently use AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Amazon S3, etc., for my work. Hence, I am already familiar with AWS services and the principles of cloud computing. In conclusion, my work experience has allowed me to grasp the course content more quickly.
